Katelyn Spivey, Editor-in-Chief

Hi there! I am a senior, and this is my third year on staff and second as editor-in-chief. I am choir president and a member of the varsity and show choirs, and in theater, I participate in musical and the One-Act Play competition. I am a self-proclaimed cat mom to a slightly overweight orange cat, Oliver. I am excited for college next year; I plan on attending the University of North Texas next fall as a music education major, but for now, I am enjoying being part of such a wonderful school and amazing newspaper staff. I can’t wait to see what this year has to offer!

I enjoy sweets but not the rich kind that make your teeth hurt, so I chose the not-so typical donut, a cinnamon twist, as well as donut holes and chocolate milk. Rolled in a mixture of sugary goodness, the twist was light and fluffy, just as a donut should be. When I bit into the donut holes, I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were not covered with regular glaze but with a vanilla flavored one. With light, non-greasy donuts, “Got Donuts?” has got me hooked.

“Got Donuts?” left an excellent first impression on our staff. With the pastel and stylishly put together interior, the establishment felt very clean and welcoming. The bathrooms were clean and although they were small, they were more than adequate. While space for parking and seating was limited, it did not feel at all crowded, but more homey.

Halloween is pretty fun. I still go trick-or-treating. It's the only time I get free candy and get to see all my friends. I was actually thinking about dressing up as a clown. I'm going trick-or-treating in the Colonies so I'm not too worried about clowns coming to get me. -freshman Tate Bartley
