Bands to perform in concert Tuesday
The intermediate, junior high and high school bands will host a concert in the high school auditorium Tuesday, May 14, beginning at 6 p.m.
Admission is free, and audience members are welcome to come and go as desired, watching all the bands or only one. The concert was relocated to the auditorium from the First United Bank Center. Head band director Mike Sheffield said hosting the concert in the auditorium will allow the bands to have their own concert experience.
“It’s going to allow our high school concert bands to play a real concert,” Sheffield said. “I’m getting to have two soloists featured. One of our staff members, David Lough, is going to play with the band, and one of our seniors, Braden Lefevre, will play a solo as well.”
Sheffield said the concert is the final chance for the band to perform.
“It is a chance for us to line our bands up from sixth grade all the way up to 12th grade,” Sheffield said. “We’re going to get a better audience response because we’re not in a basketball court, and we can do a better job of playing a real concert.”
