Museum to host ‘Psychology of Superheroes’ lecture

Dr. Travis Langley will speak on the Psychology of Superheroes as part of the WTAMU Distinguished Lecture Series.

Batman. Superman. The Hulk. Superheroes like these have captured imaginations and taken control of our culture today. But why?

As part of the West Texas A&M University Distinguished Lecture Series, Panhandle Plains Museum will host guest speaker, Travis Langley, PhD as he presents the “Psychology of Superheroes,” Thursday, March 29. Dr. Langley will speak from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. at Hazlewood Lecture Hall located on the second floor of the museum.

Langley, a professor at Henderson State University, wrote “Batman and Psychologyand edited the “Popular Culture Psychology” series. He has also spoken at several conventions including San Diego Comic-Con and New York Comic Con.
