“Overall, this exchange experience throughout my whole year, I would say that I’ve completely grown as a person.” Vasquez Berru said. “My mindset when I came here was just to try everything. I joined the musical; I loved it. I loved the musical. I loved being part of the production. [I] met so many talented people and just to be part of it was amazing. I joined track and that was tough, that was really tough. My legs were dying and I really wasn’t that great at it, but I learned something from it; I just feel that I’ve grown as a person. Now that I’m leaving, I’m really taking a big part of all of these experiences into my heart and I’m just gonna miss it a lot. I couldn’t even count all of the experiences I’ve had here. ‘Cause Washington and VASE, they are all little parts of it, but overall, all of the things that I’ve done are just amazing. ‘Cause I feel in some cases, like a freshman who’s trying to find their passion because all of the things that I’ve done here are so different from each other. And I’m just really glad that I tried it out because now I kind of know what I’m good at or what I enjoy doing. The people that I’ve met and the people that have supported me are just what makes the experience so special.”

Emma Earl, News, Editor-in-Chief
Hola, I’m Emma! I’m a junior and this is my second year here on the newspaper staff and my third in the journalism program. This year I have the honor of being the editor-in-chief of the paper and being able to share y’alls stories and accomplishments. Outside of the journalism program, I do Spanish and theatre, and I take kickboxing outside of school. A little bit about me is that I love writing, listening to music (my current favorite artist Laufey), The Legend of Zelda and I’m a huge book lover as well as a frequent iced coffee drinker. If I’m not in the journalism room you’ll probably find me hanging out with my friends, or getting a coffee from Journey Coffee to power me through the day. I’m so happy to be bringing the news to y’all this year and I am so excited to see what this year will bring!
