“If you look at me and my older sister, Ruth, I am basically an exact copy of her. She drums and does photography,” senior Brent Peterson said. “Everything that I am really good at is photography and drumming. So she basically inspired me to do all of that. Every single time I drum or take pictures, I just think I have to be better than Ruth. She had a camera, and when she went off to college, I took the camera and I went on a little walk. I just started taking pictures, and I posted them on my Instagram. Then I took pictures at a track meet, and people loved those pictures. My mentor, Braden Dawson, who is at USC right now in their journalism department taking pictures, let me play around with all the cameras and stuff like that, and he got me into taking photos. He allowed me to grow and gave me pointers.”

Math teacher Amanda Bell was named Canyon High School Teacher of the Year on Monday, Jan. 31. Other finalists include science teacher Hayden Blankenship and manufacturing teacher Chase Fulton. "Every single one of my kids has shown growth in class," Bell said. "That’s always been my goal: to help them grow and be confident in themselves."

"I make sure to prioritize my goals," Cameron said. "Balancing sports and school can get crazy sometimes, but I know it will help me later."

Hey there sunshine. This is Danielle Frausto, I’m the co-editor of the yearbook and a staff reporter for the Eagle’s Tale. I’m a junior and this is my third year in journalism. If you see me out in the wild I will probably have a camera. Other than journalism I am involved in musical crew, Key Club, Leo Club, ASL Honors Society, Student Council, and Drama Club. If I’m not at a school event I will probably be baking, reading, hanging out with my family and always listening to music. I am also involved in various volunteer programs. If you’re ever looking for me I’m most likely with Lexi Cox (aka my partner in crime) or in Mrs. Frausto room. I can’t wait to see what this year holds and I am beyond excited to capture it.
