“I’m the kind of guy who likes to make people smile. Growing up, I didn’t really get to smile that much, so I like to make others smile.” Junior Thomas Rodgers said. “First couple magic tricks I learned were from YouTube videos. I learned the yo-yo tricks back in seventh grade before I came to Canyon High and I’ve been doing it since, with about four to five years of practice. While I learned the basics, my mom got me a little book that taught me how to do yo-yo tricks, then after that, I just picked up an understanding of the basics. I saw people doing things on TikTok and then I just learned that way. I’m something called an autodidact, which is someone who has the ability to teach themselves things. I can see something, and then I’ll be able to teach myself how to do that. Give me a few weeks doing something new and I’ll almost be professional at it.”

Hola, I’m Emma! I’m a junior and this is my second year here on the newspaper staff and my third in the journalism program. This year I have the honor of being the editor-in-chief of the paper and being able to share y’alls stories and accomplishments. Outside of the journalism program, I do Spanish and theatre, and I take kickboxing outside of school. A little bit about me is that I love writing, listening to music (my current favorite artist Laufey), The Legend of Zelda and I’m a huge book lover as well as a frequent iced coffee drinker. If I’m not in the journalism room you’ll probably find me hanging out with my friends, or getting a coffee from Journey Coffee to power me through the day. I’m so happy to be bringing the news to y’all this year and I am so excited to see what this year will bring!

Aloha amigos! I’m Berkli Robinson! I am a sophomore, and this is my second year in the journalism program. I am involved in Student Council, ASL Honors Society, musical crew, powerlifting, and secretary of my class. I have a new obsession about every 2 weeks.
