The lavender ribbon represents survivors of all types of cancers.

The Coaches vs Cancer benefit is set for tonight throughout the girls’ and boys’ basketball games at home against Randall. The benefit will feature a bake sale and other donation opportunities. Boys’ head coach Travis Schulte said the nationwide event benefits cancer research and cancer patients.

“It’s also a fund raiser where people pass the hat in the stands to raise money,” Schulte said. “Our Coaches vs Cancer tonight is to benefit the Crenshaw family, which is an awesome cause, so we hope we get a good turnout, and everybody has deep pockets to give to these guys tonight.”

The girls’ game will begin at 6 and the boys will follow at 7:30 while the benefit will take place during and between the games.
