Freedom House to provide coats during Oct. 21 giveaway
With winter weather coming soon, students who need coats can visit Freedom House during the coat give-away.
In the metal building, coats of all sizes hang from racks, creating an array of colors, ready to find new homes with those who need protection from the winter weather.
Freedom House, located at 45 Hunsley Road, will host a coat giveaway for Canyon residents Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Coats may be taken other days by appointment.
“This is our eighth or ninth annual coat giveaway,” said Carolyn Sims, director of the giveaway. “We also do a school giveaway in August.”
Donations for the giveaway are always accepted, and the Freedom House can be contacted at 655-7912.
“We want to help our neighbors when the weather gets bad,” Sims said.
