Senior Kole Bryan takes first place in Lubbock, Sept. 7.

The boys and girls cross country teams competed Saturday Sept. 7, at Lubbock Monterey Cross Country meet at Mea Simmons Park.

The varsity boys won the meet with senior Kole Bryan coming in first followed by sophomore Treet Allison in third, junior Christian Cobb in fourth, junior Jacob Wilhelm in seventh and freshman Dylan Knight in eleventh. The JV boys ran two teams, earning second and fourth.

This was one of two races that the cross country teams will run on the regional course.

“It was nice to finally run a good race on the region course,” Bryan said. “That course is one of the harder courses I’ve ran.”

Varsity girls ran in a variety of races.

“I think we have a great chance of making it past regionals,” sophomore Sarah Chado. “It may not look like we are all that great right now, but with the training we are doing right now we have a chance.”

The boys will compete Saturday at Amarillo Invitational.
