For the remainder of the school year perfect attendance will no longer be a requirement to attend hour lunch. Students will now pay a $1 fee to participate. The funds raised from the upcoming hour lunch will go to a benevolent fund.
“It is a good idea and a better use of hour lunch to make it a fundraiser instead of an attendance incentive,” sophomore Garet Wilhelm said.
Principal Tim Gilliland said that the school is attempting to solicit input that will aid in the creation of an effective attendance incentive.
“We are trying things out to gain feedback,” Gilliland said. “We need kids in school so we will continue to evaluate and figure out what works.”
