Beginning this week, the high school will implement an hour-long lunch period as an incentive for students who have perfect attendance during each three week period.
Every three weeks, students who have had zero absences and less than three tardies will earn an hour long lunch period. Students who have had an absence or have had more than three tardies will report to the auditorium for 20 minutes, then be released for the usual 40 minute hour long lunch. The next scheduled hour long lunch will be Oct. 10.
“Hour lunch is basically an attendance incentive to get the kids to want to be at school,” principal Tim Gilliland said.
