The bowling teams started their seasons in the fall semester. The girls have a record of 2-2 and the boys have a record of 2-9.
Bowling competitions consist of three baker’s games and five single games. The team gets a point for every game they win.
“Bowling is very different; it’s slower paced and individualized,” senior Brylee Jesko said. “At the end of the day it comes down to you.”
Sophomore Zachary Bass said the team is full of new bowlers which is their biggest strength but also a weakness.
“We’ve improved a lot from our first match,” Bass said. “Our new bowlers have improved so much and I’m really proud of them.”
Senior Aric Cruz said he has taken this year to help the new bowlers and build the team mentally.
“You have to focus on you and your team’s mental strength,” Cruz said. “You can’t let one person fall behind while everyone else is doing good. You have to make sure everybody’s struggling together.”
Bowling players said they have earned different outcomes from their time on the team.
“My favorite part of bowling is the competition and teamwork,” Jesko said. “The teamwork aspect goes unnoticed for a lot of people but you get really close to all the people.”
