Suddenlink Impact Challenge to fund service projects

The Suddenlink Impact Challenge aims to spread the awareness of community-related issues that can make a positive impact. Groups in the Amarillo and Canyon area can create a project to better the community and earn if selected, receive funds to complete the project.

The projects will be judged by need, awareness, vision and creativity. Each section will be judged with a maximum score of 25, with a total possible score of 100. The project needs to identify the need or problem in the community clearly and show a clear way to fight it. The project should be planned for the spring of 2015.

First place will receive $1000 to carry out the project, a $1500 grant for the organization, volunteer support from Suddenlink for the event created, and t-shirts. The runner up will receive $750 for the project. Third place will receive $500, and two honorable mentions will receive $250 for the project.

According to the website, the goal of Suddenlink is to better communities and hope to inspire others to have the same dedication. Suddenlink wants to spread the idea of volunteerism and raise awareness of issues in our community.

If a group would like to participate, a member must first fill out an application located on the organization’s website. The rules, judging criteria and awards can also be found on the website.
