Library to offer charging station for electronics

The campus library has opened “The Juice Station,” a secure place students can drop off their devices during the day to be charged if their phones’ batteries are running low.

Librarian Tammy Scarbrough got the idea from a few other schools that were doing the same thing.

“I knew that if their device was like mine, the battery goes out quickly,” Mrs. Scarbrough said. “I talked to Mr. Gilliland about it, and he loved the idea.”

The only chargers available are for iPhones and iPads, so students will need to bring their own chargers. Scarbrough said students are welcome to donate chargers for other students to use. The donated chargers will not be returned.

The station is available from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Hellllloooo! My name is Abby Caviness, and this is my third year on staff. Though my height suggests otherwise, I am a senior and will turn 18 on 11/11. I am a member of the Soaring Pride Band as a marimba player and an oboe player during concert season. In my free time, I like to drink coffee, listen to music and watch an entire television series in a day. I am a part of countless fandoms, including Harry Potter, The Hunger Games and Divergent. If you also share these interests, I’ll easily be your friend. I am very excited to be writing for the newspaper this year, and I’ll do my best to help make it amazing.
