Go to ‘A Comedy Tonight!’
January 23, 2015
The Theater 2 and 3 classes will perform “A Comedy Tonight!” at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 25 and at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 26 in the auditorium. The entrance fee is $5 for adults and students alike.
The play is adapted from the musical comedy “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and is directed by theater teacher Dave Yirak. The show takes place in Rome, and is centered around a slave named Pseudolus, played by Ismael Granda. Pseudolus attempts to earn his freedom by helping his master Hero, played by Isaac Varela, marry his love Philia, played by Ryleigh Thompson.
“We have been working on it since September,” Granda said. “The cast gets along really great, and we are one big family. I think the audience will enjoy a humor that is modern but has an old twist, especially with some of the characters we have. People will definitely laugh. Mr. Yirak has given us a lot creative freedom. ”
