Senior Ryan Cox and freshman Liam Stayton argue about their strategy in a mock debate. The pair competed at the UIL State Championships over spring break, winning two of their rounds. "We practice Tuesdays and Thursdays after school," Cox said. "We put in so many hours because we want to be the best possible. Even though we work hard, we always try to keep it light. We're always laughing and making fun of each other. That's just as important as the work."

The Soaring Pride Band's show, 'Fugue State,' is under the direction of Eric Rath. This is his first year as head director of the Soaring Pride Band. Prior to this, Rath worked as head director for Canyon Junior High. “I came in 2014,” Rath said. “So coming into this role has different responsibilities, but it’s not a complete change of pace. It was really important to try to keep those standards high, and keep the culture of excellence in place.”
