As I walked into the movie theater in Beaumont Texas, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I had watched previews for the movie The Blind Side multiple times and expected just another football movie, but I was wrong.
This was not the typical story of a specific football team starting at the bottom and becoming the state champs, or the story of how a boy with no athletic ability became the all star player, this was the story of professional football player Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), his life and the Tuohy family (Sandra Bullock and Tim McGraw).
The movie focused on the story of his life before football and the life of the family that took him in, not his football career. Actually, there wasn’t nearly as much football as I thought, maybe only 15 or 20 minutes at the most.
The acting was excellent along with the story line. It was easy to follow and never confusing. The music was never overwhelming, but flowed with the tone of the movie.
Overall, the movie demonstrates how one person can influence those around them in a positive way. It shows how one person can truly make a difference in another person’s life if they just take the time to care.
The Blind Side was definitely the best football movie I have ever watched and ranks at the top of my list of favorites. I would strongly recommend anyone that likes heart-warming stories to see this movie.
