Band to compete in area UIL competition
Continuing their award-winning marching season, the Soaring Pride Band earned yet another sweepstakes rating at the UIL Regional Marching Band Competition in Amarillo this past weekend.
The band will travel to Odessa Oct. 24, where they will perform in the UIL Area Marching Band Competition at 3:30 p.m. They compete to be one of two selected bands out of the ten in competition to qualify for the UIL State Marching Band Competition, slated for Nov. 3-5.
“We all really have worked hard for this performance,” band director Mike Sheffield said. “I think we really have a good shot at making state this time around.”
