“I fell in love with soccer, just the sport in general, the teamwork and the friendships that come along with it,” freshman Kevin Korenik said. “I started it when I was six, I was pretty young and just kept playing. I’ve played for two club teams, so I played for Amarillo Rush, and now I’m playing for FC Dallas. I also played for the Junior High Team. Those are the main teams that I’ve played for. Of course, they were just smaller teams. If you have all of the leagues that I’ve played in, I scored probably at least 200 points because I’ve been playing for a while. My favorite memory: it was a warmer day. We were down by, I think, two points at that point, and we scored one goal to get it within a tie, and if we lost, we were out of the tournament. I got the ball on the sideline and started, ran down the sideline, passed it to our forward, he passed it back, and I scored the game to tie, so we ended up going to the next round, which was a pretty good moment, right there.”

Alexis Martinez, Newspaper, Head-Editor
Hey there! I am Alexis Martinez and this is my final year on staff, and I’m really excited for what the future holds for the program as well as myself. I’m proud to say I will be the head editor this year for the Eagle’s Tale newspaper. Some things about me are love the color green, ducks, cats, and so much more (if you want to know more, just ask). I love being able to share stories, whether it be here on the newspaper staff, fictional stories that have a deeper meaning, blogging, or whatever. I guess in the end time will only be the one to tell the tale. See you around! PS. I play the drums in “Crocodile Autonomy”
