As time has gone on, the realization of how much time and dedication it takes to become a fast runner has given me respect for records and the people who set them.

Allison will compete at the Mike A. Meyers stadium in Austin, Texas at 9:40 p.m. Ranked number two among the school’s past mile runners, he said his goal for the year has been to meet or beat his older brother’s school record. Sann Allison graduated in 2009 and his time of 4:16 still stands. Seth Allison, who graduated in 2007, also ran track and cross country.

“I have pursued to beat my brothers’ records in every race I have run since I have started running,” Allison said. “As time has gone on, the realization of how much time and dedication it takes to become a fast runner has given me respect for records and the people who set them.”

In his sixth year of competitive distance running, Allison has achieved his fastest times and will continue to run next year at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California where he plans to study mechanical engineering.

“I really wanted to run in college and they gave me the opportunity to run in college to help pay for college,” Allison said. “They offered me a full ride my freshman year and a running scholarship for the rest of my years.”
