Volleyball season ends in regional quarterfinal loss

The varsity volleyball team finished their 2012 season last night in the regional quarterfinal match against Dumas in a straight set loss 25-19, 27-25, 30-28.

“I feel like we fought hard and gave 100 percent, but they just came out on top,” senior Callie Ray said. “We could have made fewer errors, but we can’t look back on the little things. We tried our best.”

Ray said that the Lady Eagles made it farther this season than any other team in 4-A playoffs.

“We had a strong team and what I would say was a successful season,” Ray said.

Ray’s advice to future varsity players was to focus on playing as a team.

“No volleyball game is won without team work,” Ray said. “Work hard in practice and the results will be shown in games.”
