Varsity tennis team loses district opener 9-10

The varsity tennis team lost their district opener to the Dumas Demons yesterday 9-10.

With ten of the matches played going to super tie breakers, the Eagles only came away with four of the ten for wins.

“It was a tough loss, but it could be viewed as a good thing because it will encourage us to work harder in practice and give us motivation to beat them in Dumas,” junior Austin Wheeler said.

Canyon will travel to Caprock to face the Longhorns at 9 a.m. this Saturday.

“Caprock should be a win,” Wheeler said. “It will be a good bounce back after our loss.”
