Students who want to attend a workshop offering tips to increase ACT scores should register by Friday, Jan. 25. The National Honor Society will sponsor Z Prep! Test Preparation Services workshop at Canyon High School, Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 8:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.

Students can register here for the hands-on workshop which will include test strategies for all ACT sections and an online diagnostic test to help students identify their strengths and weaknesses.  The workshop costs $133, but students who use the code “CHS” will receive a discount.

“For sophomores who will eventually take the PSAT and juniors who are going to take the free ACT, this will help them with their scores so they don’t have to take the ACT again and again,” NHS sponsor Heather Hale said. “However, we really need to know how many students will be attending by Jan. 25 so we have enough students to do the session.”

The workshop will also teach students time management and how to avoid common mistakes.

“It’s a chance to go over those tips before the free ACT,” Hale said. “It also helps their chances of higher scores, scholarship opportunities and even general test taking.”
