Cheer sponsors announce new mascot
Many students have represented Canyon High as the Rocky the Eagle mascot through the years.

One student is about to get the big head, literally. After a schoolwide search for a new mascot and Monday’s tryouts, sophomore Sydney Shaller will be wearing the large Rocky the Eagle headgear as mascot for the rest of the the year.
The six students who tried out were asked to prepare a skit or dance and demonstrated a variety of routines including props and dancing.
“The kids all did a fantastic job,” cheerleader sponsor Anne Skalsky said. “It was a really tough decision.”
Shaller is also involved in softball, STUCO and the school musical.
