Class of 2020 graduates to walk stage individually May 13
Seniors will individually participate in a recorded graduation Wednesday, May 13 in the auditorium in accordance with each graduate’s scheduled time. Professional dress is required of all seniors. Graduates must also wear their cap, gown and tassel and are not allowed to decorate their cap in any way. Seniors will only receive their diploma cover during the individual ceremony.
All attendees must park in the band parking lot and enter through door four, near the art and speech classrooms. In compliance with social distancing guidelines, each senior may invite up to four guests, but no more than four will be allowed. All seniors should familiarize themselves with how the process of virtual graduation will work with the practice video.
Seniors will receive their cords and any “Kiss a Senior Goodbye” notes before walking across the stage. Seniors who have ordered and paid for a yearbook may pick theirs up before their video appointment, however, no extra yearbooks will be sold at this time. Each senior can also receive one free picture taken by Western Photo at graduation, but more can be purchased if the senior desires.
Seniors must bring their fully charged Chromebooks to turn in or purchase before graduating. Any library materials, such as books or calculators and textbooks must also be turned in.
The individual videos will be compiled into a virtual celebration of graduates walking the stage and will be released Friday, May 22. More information on this video will be given to graduates at their appointment. Because of the COVID-19 restrictions still in place, the decision about a “traditional” summer graduation for the class of 2020 will be made at a later time and will be communicated by CISD. Any questions about graduation should be directed to [email protected].
