The Eagle's Tale

Clark started writing poetry at the start of the Pandemic in April of 2020. She usually writes freeverse, and enjoys using    little to no ryme scemes in her work.

Our hallowed halls

Clark and her siblings were rewarded with a trip to Tokyo Disney Sea after finishing their first Japanese language textbook. Japanese has three written languages: Hiragana, Katakana and Kanji. They worked on reading, writing and speaking while in the country.

Teen Leadership member Neely Wood writes a goal for the month of December to be a better role model during a meeting. Wood, a senior, is one of four Canyon High students who meet monthly with members form other schools through Zoom. Wood said the program, which is offered across the Texas Panhandle, teaches students leadership skills and allows them to take part in and change their community.

The history of Halloween is much different from how it is viewed today. According to history.com, the holiday originated 2,000 years ago as the festival of Samhain. Halloween has evolved into a community holiday and in 2018, Americans spend around $9 billion on the holiday as a whole.
