The Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles will play Sunday at Caesars Dome in New Orleans for Super Bowl LIX. Up to this point the Chiefs have had a slightly better season going 15-2, compared to the Eagles 14-3.
The biggest game of the year is a rerun of the 2023 Super Bowl where the Chiefs beat the Eagles by a field goal. Ever since the end of the game, the Eagles have said that they would be back to face the Chiefs bigger and better than ever.
The Eagles are 14-3, the same as two years ago when they faced the Chiefs. They have a great running back and quarterback combo with Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley. The team has had their ups and downs but with this combo, the Eagles seem unstoppable.
The Chiefs have been able to show up when it means the most, only losing 2 games the entire season. If they can contain Saquon Barkley enough then they will be able to win the game, but containing an unstoppable running back is not easy.
According to the NFL, the Chiefs are favored to win the game by 3 with 27 points. The Eagles have a lower chance of winning but are predicted to score 24 points. While the Eagles have a lower chance of winning I think they are still going to put up a fight, even if the game goes into overtime.
Out of all of the NFL representatives, it was split on picks. About half of commentators want the Eagles to win, while the other half wanted the Chiefs to win. This is because quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been unstoppable for the last two years and has been able to show up when it matters most.
The attendance of the game will be around 83,000 people, plus the 203 million U.S. adults The National Retail Federation projects will watch from the comfort of their own homes.
According to People.com, Jon Batiste will perform the national anthem at Super Bowl LIX. Music artist, Kendrick Lamar, will be performing at the halftime show this year, coming off of 5 Grammys. He will be performing with SZA, another well-known rapper, that has recently collaborated with on his recent album GNX. While there may be more guests, none are confirmed.
The game will be streamed live on Fox, NFL+, Hulu, and YouTube TV.
My prediction is that the Eagles will be leading into halftime 17-14, then the Chiefs will have a major comeback to tie the game 24-24. The game will go into overtime where the Chiefs score to win the game 30-27.
