Kicking off the new school year is Aubrey Webb who will be this year’s new “Wingin’ It” podcast host. However, with a new host comes new changes to the podcast.
In previous years the podcast has had 2 hosts (i.e. Ava Haddock and Natalie Finke), but this year the podcast will only have one host. Editor of “Wingin’ It”, Berkley Foster, says she will try having one permanent host. Different hosts will rotate through depending on the season and topics of the podcast.
“I think the new system is going to be a good idea and will keep more people coming back,” Foster said. “I’m not sure if it will be easier since we are trying some different things, but it definitely will be fun”
Foster looks forward to Webb being the new host and thinks she suits the position well.
“I think Aubrey Webb brings some good energy for sure,” Foster said. “She is excited, she has school spirit and enthusiasm. She is involved in multiple things and is a part of many different groups as well.”
Webb shares those same feelings of excitement as she offers to bring new things to the podcast.
“This year, I hope to bring a lot of fun topics,” Webb said. “I want to make it diverse and get all different types of people in as well. I also want to dive deep into mental health and things that can also benefit students who listen to the podcast. So it’s not just about the silly and fun stuff, but it’s also about how do we take care of ourselves.”
Foster plans to bring special hosts in like Social Media Editor Trista Miersma, and seniors Trace Thomas and Garrett Rosser to draw the audience in, as well as promote the podcast well.
“I think having a diverse pool of people brings people in because they can connect to those different people,” Webb said. “I’m excited to hear about other people’s lives and what they’re involved in and bringing that to the table.”
