Choirs to perform fall concert Sept. 24
September 21, 2018
Choir students will perform Monday, Sept. 24 in their fall concert at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Doors open at 6:45.
Prior to the concert, choir boosters will offer membership, choir shirts, window decals, yard signs and discount cards, which generates proceeds for the choir program.
“Really, the entire concert is a chance to kick off the year in the right way,” head choir director Brandon Farren said. “It’s a chance for us to get our feet wet on stage. It will last anywhere from 40-50 minutes, and afterwards we’ll have a big reception in the commons for the choirs and their parents or guardians.”
Farren said the concert is the first chance many students get to sing at a high school level.
“I’m so proud of the kids for where they have come when we started on the first day of school, and it’s exciting to see 200 young people all come together for one common goal of knowledge,” Farren said. “What’s amazing about choir is there are 200 kids from 200 different backgrounds, yet they all come together for one purpose and one idea, and it’s the most beautiful thing about it. It truly is a communal effort.”
