Art assistance now available during activity period
Art Studio Activity Period, or A.S.A.P., will open Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays during activity period in room 1408 for all students.
Art teacher Linda Podzemny created the program for students working on teacher assigned or personal projects that need basic supplies, guidance and space. Sign-in will be mandatory each day to ensure teachers that students attended.
“I feel like art studio will help students as far as supplies,” Podzemny said. “It’s also a place for them to make their projects more aesthetically pleasing. I can teach students techniques that will work with their project that they probably wouldn’t know so their project isn’t frustrating.”
Podzemny said she thanks teachers for allowing their students to do art projects throughout the school year.
“I know that some of the Spanish teachers do Day of the Dead skulls, and they have asked me for help this year,” Podzemny said. “I love giving them pointers. Kids are always coming in here for help for the door decorating contest as well.”
A.S.A.P. is not only for the students doing school related projects, but also for students needing help with outside projects.
“Students who are artsy that have my class or don’t have my class that want to do something extra are welcome,” Podzemny said. “Students can come in here for any type of art project.”
