Students stayed home Monday after a blizzard slammed the area Sunday night, bringing high winds and enough snow to close almost all major roads in and out of Canyon and Amarillo. Travel is highly discouraged for all but emergency vehicles. Local media outlets report that emergency vehicles are receiving assistance as it becomes available but urge everyone to stay home and safe.
Canyon ISD campuses will also be closed Tuesday.
