Local food truck offers fantastic food, service
Recently I visited Aloha Kitchen for lunch and was quite pleased. Located right next to La Bella pizza on 23rd Street, the blue food truck and distinguishable logo are hard to miss.
Aloha Kitchen is open on weekdays from 1 1 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sundays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The staff was very polite and courteous. For a cost of approximately $6, I purchased the daily meal, Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken. A daily menu system serves a different meal for every day of the week, which is very unique.
I enjoyed Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken piled on white steamed rice. The well-marinated chicken was very warm, tender and full of flavor. The sauce had the right consistency, thickness and sweetness, and the steamed rice was cooked well.
The food was just as fantastic as the service, but my only issue was the small food portion. The meal covered only the large third of a styrofoam container, which is plenty for some people who do not eat very much. A growing teenage male might want to bring some extra money or an additional snack for later.
Overall, I was very pleased with the food, location, price, speediness and politeness of Aloha Kitchen.
