Band to perform end of year concert Tuesday
The symphonic and honor bands will play their final concert 6:30 p.m. May 19 at the First United Bank Center in Canyon. The concert is free of charge and open to the public.
The honor band will play “Daughters of Texas” and “The Magic of Harry Potter,” while the symphonic band will play “Music from The Incredibles” and “Encanto.” In addition, both bands will play a movement from “Pines of Rome,” called “Pines of the Appian Way.” As a finale, the high school will join with both the junior high bands and the sixth grade beginner band to play a rendition of “America the Beautiful.”
“This concert is a good opportunity to show off our music that we’ve been working on,” assistant band director Luis Hernandez said. “It gives us the chance to end the year on a good note.”
