“I sold a painting at an auction,” sophomore Kaitlynn Hoggat said. “It was just like a family auction. I painted an old house, but the house had a lot of cultural significance for my family. One of the most meaningful things that made me realize that painting was really big for me was at that auction with the painting I made. There was one lady who saw it and started crying from my artwork that she was just moved by it. She said she loved it so much, and it was great. She ended up being the one to take it home and that made me really realize that I could really have an impact on people with my art, that it doesn’t just have to be some thing I do alone in my room. So that’s why I’m more sort of sharing my art with others, and that’s why I want to put meaning on the beauty that God has created. I really believe that this universe we see, these stars, the moon, the sun. I really think that it’s God giving us a tiny glimpse of the beauty of heaven, of heaven, of the heaven of heavens, is what they call it in the bible. I’ll never be able to capture the complete meaning of God’s presence on our earth, but I can try. Even being able to catch a small amount of it is such a great feeling for me. I love doing it.”

Lucero Curampa, Newspaper
Hey guys! I’m Lucero and this is my third year in journalism and my second year in newspaper. I am a senior this year and excited to be back with this fun amazing team! I love getting to write for the newspaper and finding a love for it (since I don’t like writing in any other setting). I love music and it has made up the majority of my life. I’m in the choir and played some instruments in recent years. I also love debating topics and having educated conversations which I have a blast doing in debate. I also love participating in other extracurricular activities like musicals which I have done the past few years. Outside of school, I like reading, spending time with God, hanging out with friends, and crocheting! I am so excited to write in the newspaper with everyone and make some fun memories!
P.S. I play the electric guitar in “Crocodile Autonomy”
