” Being in Hope Squad has changed my perspective on students in the best way possible,” Sophomore Kynlee Conrad said. “Sometimes school is overwhelming and causes you to only focus on getting through your own day, but now I pay more attention to the students around me who have struggles and stress of their own. It’s eye-opening when you get to know more about a student that maybe you wouldn’t have talked to before. The most rewarding thing about Hope Squad is getting to know that you helped somebody feel better about themselves. I love knowing I made an impact on somebody. I am also a Lead Officer so I get to have meetings with Mrs. Boren and get to discuss our wants and needs to improve our school. Lead is a program where students come together to discuss ways to make our school and community a better place. Whether it is fundraisers to enhance our school, helping with activities at the elementary schools nearby, or even writing cards to the nursing homes here in Canyon. Lead has helped me feel like I have a voice for our school. I can help benefit our school and the feeder schools by helping with fundraisers and activities.”

Hailey Howard, Staff Reporter
Hi! I’m Hailey Howard! I am a senior and this is my first and final year on staff. Aside from being active in journalism, I'm a student council member. You can find me listening to music, reading, drinking lemonade, and hanging out with friends outside of school. I enjoy traveling and going on trips to the mountains. Next year, I plan on majoring in business and then going into a pre-law program, but until then I'm thrilled to see what this year brings!
