Rodriguez is happy to get back in the routine of serving the community. “Since its announcement on July 29th, everyone has been waiting for us, and watching us. September 10th is finally here,” Rodriguez said. “I am very excited. I'm happy. I'm ready to get it over with and just become the new place in Canyon, where everybody can come and hang out and receive a friendly smile, a fresh hot meal, and in a timely manner.”

Students participate in the choir department's Java and Jams
The One-Act cast and crew placed seventh at UIL Regionals Monday, April 12, with their show, “Blue Stockings," finishing their season. The show tells the story of four young women fighting for education and campaigning to be allowed to receive a formal degree like their male colleagues. While pursuing their academic achievements, the women strive to prove they are equal to men.

Although the choir department could not host an indoor concert this year, members of the ovation choir, as well as students who auditioned, performed in Java and Jams Saturday, Jan. 31. The event was hosted in the breezeway. Several student musicians and bands performed, with a Palace Coffee drink cart available to attendees to complete the atmosphere. From the smooth vocals of senior Kat Clark and her band giving life to the show while she sings the lyrics of “Valerie” by Amy WInehouse, to assistant choir director Reece Kingcade jamming out in his own world while rocking to “Renegade” by Styx, read on to explore Java and Jams.

As a part of a lab in anatomy and physiology in sixth period, teacher Cortney Shaller demonstrates making the initial incision of a cow's eye to junior Diego Sanchez Thursday, Jan. 21. "Dissection allows the student to have a hands-on experience and allows them to physically touch and observe the different organs," Shaller said. "This experience allows students to observe how form and function work hand in hand. This gives them a better understanding of their own bodies."

Hey guys! My name is Brenna Ware and I am the Eagle’s Tale newspaper associate editor. When I’m not somewhere in the 1300 hall you can probably find me playing my clarinet in the band hall. Outside of school, I am involved in 4-H where I am excited to serve as the District one third vice president. One fun fact about me is that my favorite animal is a peacock because of their pretty feathers. I am super excited to see what stories this year will hold. Oh, and I am the lead singer in “Crocodile Autonomy.”

I’m a senior here on campus and this will be my 4th year to be a part of the journalism department and 3rd year on Eagle’s Tale Staff.  I’m very passionate about newspaper and what is published as I see all the work that goes into each story from start to finish. A few things to know about me is I love to watch Grey's Anatomy and spend time with my family and friends. Arguably, I am one of the biggest Swifties here at Canyon High School but that is just my opinion. Well, that’s enough about me, I hope you enjoy our content.
