Homecoming activities continue throughout week
Broken legs, gnome socks, capes and masks, multiple Mr. Culberts and purple pride.
What do these have in common? Homecoming week.
Throughout the week, students and teachers may participate in dress up days. Monday is Fake an Injury Day, Tuesday is Crazy Sock Day, Wednesday is Superman vs. Batman Day, Thursday is Dress Like a Teacher Day and Friday is Spirit Day.
The homecoming parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and will work towards the Canyon High parking lot, finishing around 6:30 p.m. Following the parade, a Powder Puff football game is set to take place at 7 p.m. on the CHS football field. The coronation of the Homecoming King will be at halftime of the Powder Puff game.
Events on Friday kick off at 10 a.m. with the Hall of Fame induction ceremony in the gym and a pep rally immediately following. The Hall of Fame reception will be in the upper commons from 10:45 to 11 a.m. The coronation of the Homecoming Queen will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Kimbrough Stadium, then at 7 p.m. the Eagles will take on the Hereford Whitefaces.
The free homecoming dance will take place 8:30 p.m. in the CHS commons. Only CHS students with an ID can attend. CHS benefit t-shirts will be on sale for $15. Students may donate $1 to request a song to be played during the dance.
Dig up your dollars and superhero gear. It’s homecoming.
