The cross country teams began the season at the Texas Tech indoor meet Feb. 15 with a combined total of 70 athletes competing.

The boys’ team finished the meet with two first place medals, one from sophomore Norman Grimes  in the 200 meter dash and the other from  junior Brandon Groves in high jump.

Senior Sommer Wilder finished first in the 200 meter dash and the 400 meter dash, and senior Kaitlin Rodriguez finished first in the 800 meter dash and the mile. The girl’s mile relay of Rodriguez, Wilder, senior Jordan Norris and sophomore Izzy Wilson finished in first giving the girls a total of five first place medals.

Both the boys and girls track teams will compete Saturday at the Raider Nation track meet at Randall.
