Boys’ basketball team to face Randall Friday
The boys’ varsity basketball team came up short, losing to the Palo Duro Dons last Tuesday night in a back and forth overtime game with an ending score of 49-46. Now the Eagles stand with a record of 14-11.
“They’d get five points, we’d get five points, then they got up six points,” junior Aaron Hughes said. “After that we scored, but they had one more offensive possession which we stopped them on. We worked hard the whole game.”
Canyon will travel to Randall tonight to take on the Raiders at 7:30. Canyon previously lost to Randall.
“Whenever they beat us here at home it’s disheartening,” Hughes said. “We were up by six in the fourth quarter, which isn’t a lot, but it’s a good lead. I think that when we go play them on Friday at their home we’re going to come out and make smart decisions, play good defense, run the offense, and connect a lot better.”
The Eagles are nearing the end of the district play with their game against Dumas next Tuesday.
