Football pummels Pampa, to play Plainview
The Canyon Eagles demolished Pampa last Friday night with a 56-7 win over the Harvesters. Canyon will face Plainview Thursday night at Kimbrough Memorial Stadium at 7 p.m.
Canyons held the Harvesters scoreless through the first half and led Pampa 36-0 at half time. Pampa scored their first and only touchdown of the night at the end of the fourth quarter, ending the game at 56-7.
“We went in knowing that we were the better team,” senior and offensive lineman Brice Boren said. “We just had to prove it. We went into halftime up 36 points, and we knew we had to come out after half and keep momentum and not let up until the game was over.”
Boren said that the team is excited for the home opener Thursday against Plainview.
“We’re going to go in and prove we’re the better team again,” Boren said. “We’re going to shift our defense around to counter their running attack, and offensively we’re going to take the looks they give us.”
