The varsity basketball team defeated the Randall Raiders in a thrilling match up last Friday night by a final margin of two-points.
The boys were tied 24-24 at half time and fought for the lead for the rest of the game. Canyon pulled ahead at just the right time to make the final score 50-48.
“We started out really well, but then we kind of went through a dry phase and let them come back,” senior Landon Bressler said. “We were down the majority of the game, but we fought back hard and were able to come back in the second half and hold the lead at the end of the game to get the win.”
The Eagles will travel to Dumas tomorrow night to play their last district game beginning at 7:30 p.m.
“We can’t underestimate Dumas,” Bressler said. “Their gym is a tough atmosphere to play in so we need to make sure and bring our A-game.”
