The varsity boys’ basketball season came to an end last night in the regional quarterfinals by a 53-71 loss to the Frenship Tigers.
Canyon and Frenship battled back and forth for the lead throughout the first half before time concluded with the score tied at 33 all.
Frenship came out in the second half with a fire of energy and quickly took the lead. With fouls flying from both sides, Canyon could never regain the momentum.
“We started out really slow at the beginning of the third quarter, and through the progression of the second half we got into serious foul trouble and could not keep up with the scoring of Frenship,” junior Dylan Douglass said. “In my opinion, the officials were very inconsistent, leaving both teams questioning what to expect down the stretch.”
