Coming off a win last Tuesday night against Plainview, the varsity volleyball team opened their district season against the Randall Raiders Saturday.
The Eagles lost the opening set after saving three set points, 30-28. The momentum was in the Lady Raiders favor for the rest of the match, and they went on to defeat Canyon 25-15 and 25-19.
“I feel like we played really hard in the first game, but we kind of gave up in the last two which we shouldn’t have done,” sophomore Caroline Mills said. “We are practicing a lot harder to prepare for the next time we play them.”
The Lady Eagles will travel to Dumas tonight. Freshmen will play at 5 p.m., JV at 6 p.m., and varsity at 7 p.m.
“Tonight we’re going to play as hard as we can,” Mills said. “We know we can beat Dumas but it’s going to be a hard game.”
