Student Takeover rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 10
The Student Council will host the first Student Takeover in the big gym tonight from 5 to 9 p.m. during the girls’ basketball game against Hereford.
Entry is free to students who wear purple to the game and provide a student I.D. card at the entrance door by the bus lane. Prizes will be given throughout the game, and students will be provided free food and drinks. The game is also senior night for girls basketball.
“We just wanted to make it a big night for the seniors,” said junior Téa Taylor, a Student Council member. “I think tonight’s just going to be a good night because all the students are just going to be there to support one another and the basketball team. It’s going to be fun.”
Student Council sponsor Kimberly Sharber said they want to have these nights for different events.
“Members of the Student Council talked about bringing life back into the student section for next year,” Sharber said. “Then we realized we still have a whole semester of things that we can do; baseball, softball, basketball. Everybody wants our student section to have a little spirit. We’re hoping with this it brings everybody together across our campus.”
