Zack Brown
“I’ve been rodeoing for about four to five years now,” sophomore Zack Brown said. “I’m a state wrestler as well. The reason I do bull riding is it’s something fun to do and all the adrenaline. I table-topped one; when I was riding, his feet came up from under him and I threw my hand the other way. He landed on top of me and knocked three of my ribs out on my left side. I remember getting up and running and then falling right as I got to the fence and hitting that exact same spot on the fence.
You can win money. How much money you win depends on how many people are in your class. Right now, I’m on a senior bull, which is the biggest. There’s quite a few people there, and the entry fee is about $150. You can win up to around $1,000. The most I’ve ever won is about $750.
You have to stay on eight seconds. I think I’ll keep doing this a long time. You’ve got to be an adrenaline junkie. You’ve got to really want to do it. You are either all in or all out.”
