The Panhandle Public Broadcasting System will broadcast Canyon High School and West Texas A&M University’s collaborative Christmas concert four times during December.

WTAMU’s Maroon Productions recorded the concert on Sunday, Dec. 3. The concert featured the Canyon High School chamber choir, the WTAMU combined choir and the WTAMU orchestra. The concert will air on KACV on channel 2 and KACV-HD on channel 2.1. The showtimes are Tuesday, Dec. 19 at 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 21 at 1 a.m., Monday, Dec. 25 at 9:30 p.m. and Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 2:30 a.m.

“They’re going to broadcast that on the PBS channel locally, and there are several other PBS channels across the state that will pick it up also,” choir director Brandon Farren said. “It’s going to go across the whole state of Texas, for a little local flavor.”

Farren said people should watch the concert broadcast for the rarity and quality of the collaboration.

“You put those three powerhouses together, and it truly is pretty amazing,” Farren said. “To be able to watch that, and be able to know that it came from a home-grown local program is very, very cool. So I think you’ll be very impressed with not only with the quality of it, but just the magnitude of what great fine arts we have here in the Panhandle of Texas, and especially Canyon.”
