Desserts on Broadway set for Feb. 4
Choir students will perform in the annual Desserts on Broadway concert 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 4 in the Canyon High commons.
The free concert features acts every few minutes and desserts served to tables throughout the night. The four choirs will perform along with soloists and ensembles all singing songs from movies and Broadway musicals. Choir students will also act as waiters and waitresses for the audience.
“Desserts is a great break from the serious aspect of preparing for contest,” choir director Brandon Farren said. “It is a fun way to experience some great music outside of a concert venue.”
Choir students and their families will make and bring the desserts, and solos and ensembles will audition for performance slots the week of the show. Farren said the combination of homemade desserts and fun, familiar music make the night a great experience for all audiences.
“The performances will sample many styles from screen and stage,” Farren said. “There’s a little bit for everyone.”
