Sophomore Hannah DeLong modeled for the store Addy Lane this summer.

Sophomore Hannah DeLong received an unlikely job this summer when walking into Addy Lane in Amarillo.

Upon entering the clothing store, one of the managers asked the teenage girl if she would like to try on some of the store’s outfits and then asked her to come back the next day for a photo shoot. DeLong said modeling was never even a word in her vocabulary.

“I wasn’t even going to model in the first place,” DeLong said. “Honestly, I don’t know what my future is for modeling. It just happened when I walked into the store this summer.”

DeLong said her favorite part of modeling was her coworkers.

“They made everything fun,” DeLong said. “I just posed for the camera and tried on outfits. The store even let me keep some of the clothes I modeled in, and I got a discount on anything I wanted in the store.”

DeLong also loves to create art, usually painting and drawing with pens, pencils and coloring utensils. In addition, she plays on the varsity golf team.

“It’s fun to be able to hang out with new people on the course,” DeLong said. “It’s just an easy way to clear my mind.”

DeLong said her older brother, Taylor, influenced her decision to play golf.

“My brother played it and he looked like he had a lot of fun playing, so I decided to start playing too,” DeLong said. “I love him a lot, and he inspires me.”
