15 named Junior Who’s Who
Each year 15 juniors are nominated based on GPA, teacher and peer voting and extracurricular activities to receive the Junior Who’s Who award. Counselor Robin Terry is the head of the nominations and voting process.
“To be nominated, or to even qualify, you have to be in the top 20 percent of the junior class for academics,” Terry said.
The initial 50 to 60 students are finalized through a process to reach the top 15.
“For each activity they’re involved in, they get a point,” Terry said. “It’s community service, activities, GPA, and teachers’ and students’ votes.”
The selected group of junior students distribute programs at graduation and are honored in May.
“Their main duties are helping with graduation,” Terry said. “That’s kind of their job. They’re also honored with an award at our senior scholarship night”
The 2016-2017 Junior Who’s Who recipients include Ayse Allison, Hannah Miller, Tucker Fischbacher, Jaren Tankersley, Chloe Kemp, Ryan Boren, Sarah Gilliland, Avery Enns, Nathan Solomon, Josiah Dye, Macey Thurman, Kaden McPherson, Erica Perez, Blaire Winings and Victoria Bell.
