How many Disney princesses attend Canyon High School? Students will know next week.

Canyon High School will celebrate homecoming week Sept. 19-23. Students can participate in dress up days beginning Monday and attend the parade and powderpuff football game Thursday and the football game Friday.

“People are excited to come here and participate in everything,” student council president Madison Lafont said. “My favorite part of the week is the dress up days.”

The dress up days include Mix It Up Monday, in which students wear mismatched clothing; Twin Tuesday, in which students partner up and match; Disney Day, in which students dress up as Disney characters; Alphabet Day, in which students dress as something which starts with the first letter of the student’s first name and spirit day, in which students show their purple pride.

“We don’t have dress up days often,” Lafont said. “We usually only have two dress up weeks per year where you can go crazy and have a lot of fun. It is a great way to express yourself.”

Lafont said student can also express themselves by voting for homecoming king and queen, which students can do on Google Classroom with the code “cxnpctr” until 3:40 Wednesday, Sept. 21.

“Voting is one of the ways you can have a voice in the school,” Lafont said. “Each person represents different clubs, sports, interests and the school as a whole.”

Lafont said students should participate in homecoming events as much as possible because it shows school spirit and presents opportunities for fun memories.

“If we didn’t have dress up days or a powder puff game or anything else, we would just have a game like every other home game,” Lafont said. “Being involved helps make school exciting.”
